My Whirlpool Ultimate Care II washer (Model LSR8233EQ0) would not spin and started making a ratcheting noise when it tried to spin. I replaced the motor coupler and now it spins. But, it still makes that ratcheting noise during the spin cycle. It drains & agitates fine. It looks as if the agitator is slipping during the spin cycle. Remove the washing machine agitator cap by prying up around the outer edge with a small flat-blade screwdriver. Then unscrew the center hold-down (Photo 1). Reach in and remove the ratchet assembly. Turn it upside down and remove the snap-in retaining plate (Photo 2). Then install the new agitator dogs and retaining plate (Photo 3).LSQ8511KQ0.
